About V. Lindsay
Forty years of faith. A legacy of excellence. And a future that’s just getting started.
Forty Years of Purpose. One Unwavering Mission.
Founded — 1986
In 1986, a community of faith in Kansas City, Kansas made a decision that would shape the next four decades: they built a school. Not because it was easy — because it was necessary.
V. Lindsay Seventh-day Adventist School opened its doors with a conviction that children in this community deserved an education rooted in Scripture, grounded in academic excellence, and built around the belief that every child was created by God for a specific purpose.
The Legacy Years
In the decades that followed, V. Lindsay became a cornerstone of its community. Families returned generation after generation. Teachers built careers here. Students graduated carrying something no transcript could capture: a formed faith and an unshakeable sense of who they are and Whose they are.
The Transformation Era — 2023 to Present
In recent years, V. Lindsay entered the most remarkable chapter in its history. Storage rooms became a state-of-the-art STREAM Lab and library, unveiled March 25, 2026 in a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Elder Cryston Josiah, President of the Central States Conference. A strength-based specialization model was designed, piloted, and documented — showing 30% gains in ELA and math. STEM.org Accreditation was earned. NAD Six-Year Accreditation was awarded.
In 2026, V. Lindsay turns forty years old — and has never been more ready for the next forty.
“The best chapter of this school’s story is the one being written right now.”
What We Believe. Why We Exist. How We Say It.
Our Mission
To provide a Christ-centered, academically excellent education that equips every student — spiritually, intellectually, and personally — to fulfill their God-given purpose.
Our Vision
A school community where every child is seen the way God sees them — gifted, valuable, and full of potential — and where faith and academic excellence are not in competition, but in partnership.
Our Motto
“Through Christ — I Can Do This.”
PHILIPPIANS 4:13
Our students say this before hard tests, new challenges, and scary moments. It’s not a cheer — it’s a declaration. A reminder that their strength doesn’t come from what they know. It comes from Whose they are.
Rooted in a Global Faith Tradition.
V. Lindsay is a Seventh-day Adventist school, operating under the Central States Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. That connection is not just organizational — it’s the reason this school exists.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church has grown into one of the most globally expansive Protestant denominations in the world — approximately 22 million members, over 9,400 schools worldwide, and a humanitarian presence in 120 countries through the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA). Adventists believe that God is concerned with the whole person — how we live, how we learn, how we treat one another, and how we care for the world. That whole-person philosophy is the heartbeat of V. Lindsay’s education.
What This Means for Your Family
When you enroll your child at V. Lindsay, you’re not just choosing a school. You’re choosing a community that prays with your child, teaches them to read the Bible, and sends them home each day having practiced what it looks like to love God and love people.
You don’t have to be Seventh-day Adventist to attend V. Lindsay. You just have to believe your child deserves an education that takes their soul as seriously as their GPA.

Recognized for Excellence.
V. Lindsay doesn’t pursue accreditation for a plaque on the wall. Every credential we’ve earned is a reflection of what’s already happening in our classrooms.
STEM.org Accreditation — Awarded 2026
Newly awarded in 2026, STEM.org Accreditation places V. Lindsay among a select group of schools nationally recognized for rigorous, standards-aligned STEM education. This is the most recent confirmation of what our students have always known: this is next-level learning.
NAD Six-Year Accreditation — 2025
In March 2025, V. Lindsay received a full Six-Year Accreditation from the North American Division Commission on Accreditation — the highest recognition available within Seventh-day Adventist education. A full six-year term is the top tier award.
Character.org Promising Practices — Applied
V. Lindsay has applied for Promising Practices recognition through Character.org for three of our signature programs: our Strength-Based Specialization Model, our STREAM Lab and Library Transformation, and our “Who Is My Neighbor?” cross-curricular project-based learning initiative. We are actively pursuing State School of Character recognition.
Strength-Based Specialization Model
At V. Lindsay, every student has three dedicated subject specialists — a Math teacher, an ELA/Reading teacher, and a Science/Social Studies teacher. Rather than one teacher covering every subject, each educator teaches exclusively in their area of expertise. When we piloted this model, we documented a 30% increase in both Math and ELA performance. The result is deeper instruction, faster gap closure, and a clear pathway for students who are ready to move beyond their current grade level. Every child gets a specialist. Every day.
V. LINDSAY IS MOVING
We’re Not Done Yet.
The transformation of V. Lindsay is ongoing. Here’s what’s coming to our campus:
A Brand-New Playground
Our students are getting the outdoor space they deserve. A new playground is coming to campus, giving our children a safe, joyful place to play, move, and be kids.
In-School Podcast Studio — June 2026
By June 2026, V. Lindsay will be home to a fully equipped in-school podcast studio. Students will learn to communicate, create, and tell their stories through one of the most powerful media formats of their generation.
Indoor Greenhouse — Connected to the STREAM Lab
A living, student-tended indoor greenhouse — connected directly to our STREAM space — will give students hands-on experience in plant science, ecosystems, and sustainability. Learning that literally grows.
This is what it looks like when a school refuses to be ordinary.
