STREAM Is More Than an Acronym. It’s a Philosophy.
At V. Lindsay, STREAM is not a single class or a once-a-week elective. It is a cross-curricular approach to learning that weaves together six disciplines into one integrated educational experience.
S — Science
Hands-on investigation, inquiry-based learning, and real experiments that teach students to ask better questions and find real answers.
T — Technology
Digital literacy, coding foundations, and technology as a tool for creation — not just consumption.
R — Reading
Our library is not a quiet room of shelves. It is an active literacy hub where students engage with texts,
The STREAM Lab & Library
Where Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics stop being subjects — and start being experiences.
It Started With Two Storage Rooms and a Decision to Dream Bigger.
Not long ago, the space that is now V. Lindsay’s STREAM Lab was being used to store boxes. That’s not a metaphor. It is literally what was there — storage rooms. Unused. Overlooked. Taking up space that could have been doing so much more.
Leadership looked at those rooms and saw something different. They saw a lab. A library. A place where children could build, discover, experiment, create, and grow. They saw what V. Lindsay students deserved — and they went to work.
What was once wasted space is now one of the most impressive learning environments in Kansas City. A fully equipped, professionally designed STREAM Lab and library that serves every student from PreK through 8th grade. A space that signals to every child who walks through its doors: you are worth this investment.
The Ribbon Cutting — March 25, 2026
On March 25, 2026, V. Lindsay officially unveiled the STREAM Lab and library in a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Elder Cryston Josiah, President of the Central States Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. It was a moment that marked not just the opening of a room — but the beginning of a new chapter for the entire school.
“We didn’t renovate a storage room. We built a statement about what this school believes its students deserve.”
