Academics
An education that challenges every student, honors every gift, and prepares every child for high school, college, and a life of purpose.
We Don’t Teach to the Middle. We Teach to the Gift.
Most schools teach one way and hope every student keeps up. At V. Lindsay, we believe that approach leaves too many children behind — not because they can’t learn, but because no one took the time to find out HOW they learn best.
That’s why we built the Strength-Based Specialization Model. A research-informed, faith-rooted approach to instruction that begins with one question: What has God already placed inside this child?
Every student at V. Lindsay has three dedicated subject specialists — a Math teacher, an ELA/Reading teacher, and a Science/Social Studies teacher. Rather than one teacher covering every subject, each educator teaches exclusively in their area of expertise. The result is deeper instruction, faster gap closure, and a clear pathway for students who are ready to move beyond their current grade level.
“When a child is taught through their strengths, they don’t just perform better. They come alive.”
The Results Speak.
In our first six-week pilot, the Strength-Based Specialization Model produced measurable results: approximately 30% average gains in both ELA and math. One full year of implementation data is now documented. But the numbers only tell part of the story. The real result is students who are engaged, confident, and excited to come to school — because for the first time, school is built for them.
Biblical Foundation
This model isn’t just pedagogically sound — it’s theologically grounded. We believe Proverbs 22:6 is both a parenting instruction and an educational one: “Train up a child in the way he should go.” The phrase ‘the way he should go’ in the original Hebrew refers to the child’s unique bent — their individual design. We take that seriously.
“Through Christ — I Can Do This.”
PHILIPPIANS 4:13 — V. LINDSAY SDA SCHOOL

A Program Designed for Every Stage.
From PreK to 8th grade, V. Lindsay’s program is intentionally designed for where your child is developmentally — and where they’re going next.
Early Childhood — PreK & Kindergarten
The earliest years are the most formative — and we treat them that way. Our Early Childhood program builds the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual foundations that everything else is built on. Children learn to read, count, listen, collaborate, and understand that they are loved by God and valued in this community.
Phonics & early literacy · Number sense · Social-emotional learning · Bible stories & worship · Creative expression · Play-based learning
Elementary — Grades 1 through 4
Elementary school at V. Lindsay is where academic identity begins to form. This is where the Strength-Based Specialization Model has its deepest impact — students are taught by subject specialists in ways that align with their individual learning design. By the time a student leaves 4th grade, they know how they learn, what they’re good at, and that their gifts matter.
Reading fluency & comprehension · Writing development · Mathematics · Science & STREAM Lab · Social studies · Bible & character · Project-based learning
Middle School — Grades 5 through 8
Middle school is where V. Lindsay students begin to step into leadership. The academic program intensifies to prepare students for the rigor of high school, while the faith formation program deepens to prepare them for life. Our 8th grade graduates leave V. Lindsay knowing who they are, what they believe, and what they’re capable of.

Where Academics Come to Life.
The classroom is where learning begins. The STREAM Lab is where it becomes real.
Our STREAM Lab and library is fully integrated into the academic program — not a separate enrichment period, but a core component of how V. Lindsay students learn Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Students don’t just read about ecosystems. They grow one. They don’t just study engineering. They build.
STEM.org Accreditation — 2026
In 2026, V. Lindsay earned STEM.org Accreditation — a national recognition confirming that our STEM programming meets the highest standards of rigor, integration, and student outcomes. This accreditation is a formal, external validation of what our students experience every day.
We Teach the Whole Child. On Purpose.
Academic preparation without character formation is incomplete. At V. Lindsay, character development is not an elective — it is woven into every subject, every classroom interaction, and every school day.
Integrity — doing the right thing when no one is watching
Responsibility — owning their learning and their choices
Empathy — seeing others the way God sees them
Perseverance — “Through Christ — I Can Do This” is a practice, not just a motto
Service — using their gifts to contribute to something beyond themselves
These are not soft skills. These are the skills that determine what kind of human being your child becomes. We take them just as seriously as test scores.
Your Child Deserves an Education Built for Them.
